METALLIC YARN

Metallic yarns are yarns composed of metal (such as aluminium, copper, gold, silver, etc) or as a blend of metallic fibres with other fibres.

Metallic yarn is, unlike the name suggests, not actually yarn but slit Aluminium metallized Polyester film supported or twisted with other yarns to offer a wide range of effects.

Blend of aluminium fibre with nylon or polyester fibre is the most common fancy yarn used in the textile, weaving and hosiery industries.

Some of the uses of metallic yarns are upholstery fabric/textile, machine or hand embroidery, jacquard fabric, brocade fabric, laces, etc.

M TYPE (BADLA)

M-Type Metallic Yarn Is Slit Metallized Polyester Film, Coated With Colored Paint On. Available In 1/69″,1/85″ And 1/100″ Widths.

M TYPE (BADLA) (Strip / Ribbon)

M-type metallic yarn is slit metallized Polyester film, coated with colored paint on. This variant is broader than M type yarn in the form of strips or ribbons.

MH TYPE

MH-Type Metallic Yarn Is M-Type Metallic Yarn Supported/Twisted (Partially Covered) With Viscose Rayon Or Polyester Yarn.

MH TYPE(REVERSE VARIANT)

A reverse variant of MH type yarn where viscose rayon or polyester yarn is supported/twisted (partially covered) by M type yarn.
Available in 1/69”, 1/85”, 1/100” widths.

MHR TYPE

MH Type Yarn Covered By Another Base Yarn Such As Polyester/Viscose Rayon To Give It A Fancier Look.

MX TYPE (Lurex)

MX-type metallic yarn is M-type metallic yarn supported with nylon/polyester monofilament on 2 ends (1 end covered clockwise; 1 end covered counterclockwise). Available in 1/69″,1/85″ and 1/100″ widths.

DORI YARN (BULLET)

Cotton yarn fully covered with M type yarn.

DORI YARN (GOPI)

Cotton yarn fully covered with M type yarn.

ST TYPE (NYLON)

ST-type metallic yarn is Viscose rayon or Polyester filament yarn covered with M-type metallic yarn at fully closed regular intervals.
* For colors such as silver or gold, there are variants wherein the M type yarn used is made by combining aluminium with the silver/gold paste or is entired made by silver/gold paste. (used highly in defence emblem embroideries)

ST TYPE (POLYESTER)

ST TYPE (CARBONISED ZARI)

Yarn made by gilding the base yarn (polyester/ viscose rayon) with copper and further colored with various colors.
*This yarn is made by the carbonization treatment and the silver can get oxidised if not treated after application.

ST TYPE (JABRA/NEEMZARI)

ST-type metallic yarn is Viscose rayon or Polyester filament yarn covered with M-type metallic yarn at equally spaced intervals (as seen in the animal Zebra).

ST TYPE (COTTON ZARI)

Cotton yarn covered with M-type metallic yarn at fully closed regular intervals.
